Asia Pacific ICT Alliance (APICTA) Awards 2016 has the breaking numbers of participation both in terms of number of competing teams and participating economies, since 2001 in Kuala Lumpur. 245 teams, 64 judges, and a total of over 800 participants from 16 economies were gathered in Taipei during December 2nd to 5th, 2016.
The organizer Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) fully supported APICTA in Taipei and the hosting organization Taipei Computer Association (TCA) organized programs of 2016 APICTA, combined with Student Workshop, Start-Up Day, Business Matchmaking, APICTA Studio, Asia Pacific Campus 4G Mobile Innovation Forum, Awards Ceremony and other networking events.
Over 80 students from elementary to post-secondary participated in Student Workshop for them to exchange idea and to interact with each other. The Business Matchmaking aimed to create business opportunities between Taiwanese System Integration industry giants and the nominees from member economies. Start-Up Day provided a platform for startup companies to share ideas and experiences by pitching. International VC media / platforms for live streaming were invited to spread the energy of startups and to increase business opportunities. APICTA Studio made the first appearance in APICTA program for nominees to show off their technology innovation through live broadcast, to increase exposures of the companies and expressed their products and services.
