APICTA Awards 2025 Concludes Successfully in Kaohsiung, Showcasing New Momentum for Asia-Pacific Innovation

The Asia Pacific ICT Alliance Awards (APICTA Awards 2025), hosted by Chinese Taipei, concluded successfully on December 8. This year’s event marked a significant milestone, bringing together 206 teams and 268 innovative entries from 13 Asia-Pacific economies between December 5 and 8. The record turnout highlighted the region’s strong technological momentum and growing competitiveness.
This year’s entries spanned a wide range of internationally relevant domains, including artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, the Internet of Things (IoT), health technology, and sustainable solutions. Participating teams showcased forward-looking and market-ready innovations, reflecting the dynamic development of the Asia-Pacific technology ecosystem. Delegates widely recognized that APICTA Awards has evolved into a premier platform for startups, research teams, and enterprises seeking global visibility and cross-border opportunities.

To further advance regional collaboration and the exchange of talent and technology, Chinese Taipei organized more than 10 side events during the four-day program, including exhibitions, business matchmaking, startup showcases, and international forums. The program also incorporated immersive digital technology experiences—such as smart mobility demonstrations and smart city site visits—enabling participants to experience Taiwan’s digital innovation firsthand while further fostering cross-domain and cross-border technology exchange.

On the exhibition front, 76 nominated teams from APICTA Awards 2025 were brought together in a joint exhibition space, creating a vibrant platform for interaction and knowledge sharing. This collective showcase generated over NT$100 million (approximately USD 3 million) in business matching opportunities, supporting teams in exploring potential technology collaborations and market expansion opportunities.

Through activities ranging from technical demonstrations and solution-driven exhibitions to pitch presentations and cross-economy networking, the event successfully connected innovation with market needs, positioning APICTA Awards as a key hub for regional technological cooperation.

Meanwhile, to ensure that international delegates fully experienced the hospitality and cultural diversity of Taiwan, the organizer partnered with Kaohsiung City Government to provide MeNGo transportation passes and special vouchers for local night markets. In collaboration with the Tourism Administration, customized travel itineraries were also arranged. Many participants remarked that, beyond the rigorous judging sessions, they were deeply impressed by the convenience, cultural richness, and the vibrant urban energy that Kaohsiung has to offer.
Looking ahead, Chinese Taipei remains committed to fostering innovation and openness. Through the APICTA platform, Chinese Taipei will continue to deepen dialogue and collaboration with regional economies in areas including AI development, cybersecurity, digital applications, and technology talent cultivation—collectively advancing a more connected, resilient, and forward-leaning innovation ecosystem across the Asia-Pacific region.
